John 6:61-63

⁶¹Aware of the complaints of his disciples, Jesus said to them,

“Does this shock you?
⁶²What then if you were to behold the Son of Man
ascend to where he was before?
⁶³It is the spirit that gives life;
the flesh^[a] can achieve nothing.
The words that I have spoken to you
are spirit and life.
